Maya is filled with 'PANIC' about being exposed over Jacob, says Emmerdale star Louisa Clein
Emmerdale actress reveals Maya is left fuming when Jacob gets close to Liv
Emmerdale star Louise Clein says that Maya Stepney’s sick affair with teenager Jacob Gallagher is all about control.
Maya has spent weeks grooming David Metcalfe’s 15-year-old son, but next week Jacob tries to distance himself from her.
And the twisted teacher flies into a jealous rage when she sees Jacob meeting up with his good friend, Liv.
Maya decides to wreck things between Jacob and Liv by telling Aaron about how the teens are together.
“Maya’s relationship with Jacob is about control,” says Louisa, who plays Maya. “He’s young, he looks up to her, and she is his teacher, so there is a sense of authority and power from her. So when suddenly he’s with Liv, she’s being challenged, and she’s filled with pure, uncontrolled panic.”
Jacob is left gutted when Aaron chucks him out after seeing him with Liv. He heads off to see the predatory teacher for support, but then the horrified teen realises that it was Maya who stitched him up with Aaron.

A furious Jacob then threatens to expose their affair, leaving Maya in a panic. She decides she has to escape before her sick secret comes out.
“It’s utterly impulsive and cowardly,” says Louisa. “She’s frightened. In her panicked state, she tries to pull a suitcase off the top of a cupboard. But it gets caught and flings back at her and she falls off the chair she’s standing on. She’s unconscious and there’s blood.”
Is that the end of Maya? Has she met a grisly end? And what will David do when he finally learns the truth?
Emmerdale continues on ITV tonight at 7pm.
