Family to identify Mark Speight's body
The family of TV presenter Mark Speight are to formally identify his body, which was found in a London railway station yesterday. The 42-year-old disappeared six days ago after the inquest into the death of his fiancee Natasha Collins. She died in a scalding bath at their home three months ago after taking cocaine and sleeping tablets. His father, Oliver, paid tribute to his "wonderful" son. He said: "Mark was a wonderful son and brother to his family and he will be very sadly missed. We need to come to terms with our grief at the loss of both Mark and Natasha." Speight's agent also paid tribute to the couple and said news of his death had come as a distressing blow. Jan Kennedy of Billy Marsh Associates said: "We are absolutely devastated at the tragic news of the loss of Mark and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family as well as the family of his beloved fiancee, Natasha, whose equally tragic death had affected him so inconsolably." The circumstances of Speight's death are being investigated, but police confirmed he was not hit by a train. Detectives will examine CCTV footage from Paddington station and said they are treating the death as unexplained.
