Filming starts on Mistresses series two
Filming has begun on the second series of Mistresses, the BBC has confirmed. Sarah Parish, Sharon Small, Shelley Conn and Orla Brady will reprise their roles as four 30-something friends who face a string of dilemmas in their quest for true happiness. Patrick Baladi, Raza Jaffrey, Adam Rayner and Adam Astill will be returning as the men in their lives, while newcomers Holby Blue star Oliver Milburn and Scorpion King actor Steven Brand will be on hand to spice things up. This Life actress Natasha Little will also be joining the cast of the new series, produced by Ecosse Films for BBC One. Millions of viewers were left on tenterhooks at the end of series one when Siobhan learned that, after years of trying, she was finally pregnant - but not with husband Hari's baby... Bethan Jones, BBC executive producer, said: "Earlier this year, Mistresses was must-see television for women, as well as a guilty pleasure for their partners, and I'm delighted that BBC One viewers will be treated to another series full of wit, charisma and revelations." Lucy Bedford, executive producer for Ecosse Films, added: "We are so lucky to have such a talented cast in Mistresses and we have been able to add some equally talented new faces to the girls' circle of friends - and some more gorgeous men to tempt our lovely ladies! "The new series offers great drama, unexpected twists and some very funny moments which will keep Mistresses fans hooked!" Mistresses is currently in production in Bristol until November. The series is due to be screened on BBC One early next year.
