Ex Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy has revealed he’d love to one day revisit his legendary character in Footballers Wives', sparking fan hopes that the ITV classic could make a comeback.

As star footballer Kyle Pascoe at fictional Premier League club Earls Park F.C., Gary took centre stage in the drama, which ran from 2002 to 2006.

Kyle memorably married Chardonnay (played by Susie Amy) in a wonderfully over the top wedding featuring thrones.

Gary, who recently left his role as Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks, told The Sun Online: “It was a fantastic time in my life. I was 21-year-old, I was living the dream at the time and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“There has been loads of talk about it but would I go back? I’d absolutely love to revisit that at some point but who knows what the future brings.”

36-year-old Gary has enjoyed a string of big roles since his days as Kyle, including a long stint as PC Will Fletcher in The Bill and as Danny Pennant in EastEnders, between 2012 and 2014.

Footballers Wives’ ran for five series and among the cast was Zoe Lucker as devious Tanya Turner and EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth as Karl’s mother, Jackie Pascoe. Even Joan Collins had a role in the fifth series!
