Frankie Bridge fancies a future in dance

Strictly Come Dancing star Frankie Bridge has revealed she would like to continue dancing – and is even trying to teach her husband Wayne some moves.

The Saturdays singer, who bookmakers are tipping for the long haul in the BBC One ballroom show, said she is already eyeing up a future on the dancefloor, and can see herself opening a dance school.

“I am trying to get Wayne to learn how to dance. Maybe I’ll be winning ballroom competitions around the country,” she told the Daily Mirror.

“As a kid, I actually wanted to own my own dance school, so maybe I’ll do that,” she added.

Frankie – who is partnered by Kevin Clifton – has been impressing the judges and public with her smooth moves, but said she continues to be surprised with her successful streak.

“I’m shocked! For me, this kind of dancing doesn’t come naturally – I’m not a graceful person or girlie girl. Funnily enough, I’m better on the night than in rehearsals,” she admitted.

“Somehow it works when I’m under pressure, because that’s what I’m used to with the band. It’s more pressure having the (Saturdays) girls and Wayne in the audience – I want them to be proud of me.”

The 25-year-old singer gave birth to son Parker last October.

“I actually think motherhood and marriage happened to me because I’m happy now. For a long time, my head wasn’t in the right place to be someone’s wife or mum. But I managed to get through that,” she said.

“The amount of love I have for Parker (is scary). It’s a beautiful thing, but it’s also overwhelming. It’s like no other love you’ve known before,” she continued, adding: “I’d love a girl, but I also want a brother for Parker.”
