British stars Gemma Arterton and Tom Hardy have been nominated for the Orange Wednesday Rising Star Award at this year's British Academy Film Awards. Both actors have joined the Hollywood A-list after appearing in several big budget films including the Bond film Quantum of Solace and Clash of the Titans starring Gemma, while Tom appeared in the 2010 blockbuster Inception. The pair are joined by other nominees Andrew Garfield from last year's hit The Social Network, Aaron Johnson, who appeared in the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy and the comic book-inspired film Kick Ass, and Emma Stone who appeared in cult-comedy Superbad and is currently starring in Easy A. The Orange Wednesday Rising Star Award is currently the only accolade at the BAFTAS to be voted for by the British public. Previous winners include James McAvoy, Eva Green, Shia LaBeouf, Noel Clarke and Kristen Stewart. Voting takes place both at orange.co.uk/bafta and via text. The winner will be announced at the star-studded awards ceremony on Sunday 13 February 2011.
