Guy Ritchie tries the small screen
Guy Ritchie is taking a step away from cinema and concentrating his efforts on a US television show. The British writer/director will helm and executive produce the pilot of a series called Suspects, which has been ordered by ABC. The show is another procedural crime drama - only the twist this time is that each episode will follow all the suspects in a case until the truth about which of them committed the crime is finally revealed. There is no word on casting, although the pilot season is currently gearing up in Los Angeles. It is likely that if the show were to be picked up, it would be premiered this autumn. Guy has already dabbled in TV in the UK, but following the spectacular failure of his last two films - Swept Away, starring Madonna, and Revolver - TV could be the surest route back to the top. What's more, it seems his former producer Matthew Vaughn has now overtaken him in the Hollywood standings, thanks to Layer Cake and the upcoming Sienna Miller/Robert De Niro movie, Stardust.
