Harrison Ford has promised Indiana Jones fans that the fifth instalment of the legendary film series will be "great".
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, which returns this Friday, the 75-year-old Hollywood legend confirmed that the fifth movie is happening and added that he was excited about teaming up again with director Steven Spielberg.
“We have a release date and we are working on a script. It will be great. I’m looking forward to working with Steven (Spielberg) again and to revisiting the character later in life. It’s interesting to see it in a different light. It will be fun and a good thing to do,” said Harrison, who first played Indy in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).
The hugely popular actor revealed that he can't escape the famous Indiana Jones film tune, composed by John Williams.
“I can’t escape the god damn music. As I was slightly sedated for a routine colonoscopy it was playing in the elevator and the other day a fire engine was heading down the street in New York City with the music blaring out!”
Harrison Ford is joined on Graham's sofa by Rylan Gosling, who co-stars with him in the Bladerunner reboot, Blade Runner 2049, which is releaed on 5 October. Asked why he'd agreed to make a new Bladerunner movie, Harrison said: “They finally came up with a good story. There was never an intention to make a sequel as the first one didn’t do well enough at the box office because it was wildly weird for the time.
"Over the years it has gained an enormous acceptance and following. I thought the script was awesome and I suggested Ryan to play one of the key parts. It turned out they had been talking to him for months… They’d only been talking to me for weeks… so, I think they would have gone ahead without me anyway!”
Graham also welcomes Aussie star Margot Robbie, Oscar-winner Reece Witherspoon and pop group Bananarama onto his famous sofa, as his BBC1 show returns at 10.35 on Friday evening.
