Max Branning has been taking his time with his revenge… But recent devastating events could mean he can strike now

Max Branning (Jake Wood) is plotting his revenge against all those who let him stay in prison, even when they knew he didn’t kill Lucy Beale. We know he’ll target residents in Albert Square – and top of his hit list is Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), who discovered his son, Bobby, killed Lucy and stayed quiet.

We also know Max is targeting property in the Square. His chat with the mysterious Chairman several weeks ago, revealed that they had their eye on The Queen Vic.

"It's next on my list," he told the Chairman then.

"No second thoughts?" he was asked.

"Let it burn for all I care," Max replied.

Well, it hasn't but the pub is in a sorry state…

And now, after Sylvie’s tragic death last week, the already fractured Carter family have all but fallen apart.

Mick (Danny Dyer) is overseas, looking after his sick daughter, Linda (Kellie Bright) is in Watford, looking after her sick mum, Lee (Danny Boy Hatchard) is in Dover, looking after his sick self, Shirley (Linda Henry) is in prison, sick of being banged up, Johnny (Ted Reilly) is sick with worry over the family dog, Lady Di, and Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) is sick with grief, following her mum’s death.

The Queen Vic, like its owners, is crumbling, and Max knows this. Will he make his move on the pub now?

Or will he turn his attention to another easy target that has presented itself?

Michelle Fowler (Jenna Russell) has been suspicious of him ever since he returned. But now she might have done him a favour by crashing that car into Ian’s chippy last week…

Ian has revealed the building wasn’t insured, which could make it easy pickings for Max and give him the chance to kick Ian while he's down.

Max has everyone thinking he’s forgiven and forgotten how he was betrayed, but he hasn’t.

His revenge is coming and, after he strikes, we reckon life in Albert Square will never be the same again…
