Helen Skelton has tied the knot with Super League rugby player Richie Myler in her family's local church.

The former Blue Peter presenter got married at St Michael's church in Kirkby Thore near Penrith on Sunday, according to the Daily Mail.

Helen, 30, wore a sleeveless white lace wedding dress tied with a silver sash, and accessorised it with silver peep-toe heels and a long veil.

Her bridesmaids wore matching dark sequinned full-length dresses, while new husband Warrington Wolves player Richie looked smart in a black suit and bow tie.

The presenter tweeted in the run-up to her wedding: "In awe of [how] helpful my friends, family and community are being about the wedding. They have sorted stuff I haven't thought of!"

She told the Daily Mirror of the venue: "[It's] where all my family were christened and where my gran was a church organist.

"We've hired a big house for the reception, we've both got big families - so we're just having a house party."

Helen added: "I'd love to have babies one day. I couldn't have done Blue Peter and have kids at the same time. I'd have about four kids."
