Hollyoaks fans are convinced Tony Hutchinson is dead for THIS reason

Tony Hutchinson

Hollyoaks viewers were left guessing about Tony Hutchinson's fate after he was brutally stabbed by Breda McQueen earlier this week.

But now fans are convinced Tony - who is played by Nick Prickard - is dead after his name was removed from the opening credits.

Nick has been in the soap for 24 years, so it didn't take eagle-eyed soap fans long to notice his name disappear - leaving them convinced they know the outcome of the storyline that's kept everyone gripped.

"Tony’s been removed from the opening credits," one fan pointed out.

Given the fact he's the longest-standing member of the cast, viewers took to Twitter in their droves to share their outrage after on-screen flashbacks appeared to hint this was Tony's final goodbye.

"Tony is the longest serving member of Hollyoaks so Breda can't kill him. It's the law," one fan wrote. While another said: "Please be a fake death."

Tony found himself in trouble after trying to find out the truth behind his son Harry's disappearance. But, the closer he got to uncovering what had happened to his own son, he also unveiled the truth behind some other deaths in the village.

After finding a teddy bear identical to the ones given to the children of her victims, Tony realised she had killed Louis Loveday, Russ Owen, Glenn Donovan, Mac Nightingale and Carl Costello, as well as his own son Harry.

But Tony's revelation left Breda with no choice but to stab him in the stomach. And, despite appearing to show his death, Nick - the actor who plays Tony - hinted that there could still be some twists to come.

He told Metro: "Well, there he goes! We're all to believe that Tony is dead. We’ve done this kind of thing before – Breda is a serial killer and has killed off plenty of residents so the viewers are going to think I’m a goner! She has killed everyone else!"

Reflecting on his 24 years on the soap, he added: "In this game, you never know what's going to happen. The whole company is on year to year deals. You have to live on the edge and you don't ever take for granted that you will be there forever. So you're always thinking, this is the year they’ve had enough of me!"
