HORROR for THIS Coronation Street resident as they unearth a sickening secret
Coronation Street's Seb Franklin is set to make a shocking discovery about Alina Pop...
Next week's Coronation Street will see Seb Franklin land himself in trouble as he discovers the real reason Alina Pop has been lying to him.
It's no secret that Coronation Street has been planning to explore a modern slavery storyline with Alina, who has been brought over to the UK as part of an Eastern European human trafficking ring.
But the official website for Coronation Street has today revealed that next week will see the storyline kicking off in dramatic style when Seb confronts Alina about why she has been lying to him.
Seb and Alina's relationship seemed to be going well, until Alina suddenly ended things with her handyman boyfriend, leaving him confused.
But it didn't take Seb long to work out that Alina has been lying to him about leaving her job at the nail bar, and according to the Coronation Street website, it seems next week he is set to discover the shocking truth about her poor living and working conditions...

"Seb is left horrified when he catches up with Alina and sees where she is living. But a terrified Alina tells him he must leave at once. What will he discover?"
However, the plot seems to thicken when it appears dodgy Jan is also involved with the illegal dealings in some way...
"Suspicious Abi tells Seb that she saw Jan getting into another woman's car. Seb confronts Jan, just as Eileen walks in! Can Jan offer an explanation?"
It has been reported that Seb is set to try and get those responsible for Alina's bad treatment to face up to their crimes... but in doing so he will land himself, and potentially others around him, in grave danger.
Coronation Street has never shied away from portraying hard-hitting storylines like this, and producer Iain MacLeod has said that the fact human trafficking is one of the biggest hidden scandals in the UK today is the reason the soap is covering Alina's storyline...
"Our research has shown us that in many towns and cities across Britain, people are being forced to work against their will, living in extreme poverty and in fear of their safety, all so ruthless criminal gangs can get rich at their expense.
"We're keen to highlight that slavery hides in plain sight - the salon which does your nails for a too-good-to-be-true price, the car wash which valets your hatchback for half the going rate... these could all be staffed by people who are being threatened ad exploited."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
