Ali Bastian will perform in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final despite her foot injury. But Laila Rouass and partner Anton Du Beke - who were knocked out of the competition last week - are on stand-by to dance in place of Ali and partner Brian Fortuna if her condition deteriorates, show bosses said. The former Hollyoaks star sprained her foot two weeks ago and had to submerge it in an ice bucket for an hour to recuperate after the live show last Saturday amid fears she may have to pull out. A BBC spokesman said: "Laila and Anton are continuing to train as a contingency in case any of the remaining couples are unable to perform in the live show. "Ali is fine. She has danced two dances since she injured her foot and she will continue to dance." Asked if Laila would be reinstated into the competition and take Ali's place in the final, should she have to step in tomorrow, the BBC spokesman said: "It hasn't been thought that far through yet. "It would have to be a massive injury for Laila and Anton to step in, it's just one of those contingency plans that we've always had in place just in case anything happens." Ali is due to battle it out on the dancefloor against her former Hollyoaks co-star Ricky Whittle and his partner Natalie Lowe, and breakfast TV presenter Chris Hollins and his partner Ola Jordan. There will be no dance-off on the BBC show this week, leaving the decision of who goes through to the final even more dependent on the viewers' vote than the judges' scores than in previous weeks.
