It’s true, fans! The Gilmore Girls is being revived by Netflix

Fast-talking mother and daughter Lorelai and Rory Gilmore are heading back to Stars Hollow for a new series of The Gilmore Girls at Netflix.

The award-winning drama, currently being repeated on 5*, has been officially revived with original cast members Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel set to recreate their roles as Lorelai and Rory, along with Scott Patterson (as Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Keiko Agena (Lane).

Lauren tweeted her excitement following the official announcement.

Netflix also shared the good news with this tweet featuring a classic line from the show:

The streaming service also posted this photo on Instagram with the caption: “From Stars Hollow to Hartford to New Haven to Netflix. Welcome back, girls. An all new season of Gilmore Girls coming to Netflix in 2016.”

The photo shows a chest of drawers with photos of stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel and an open drawer reveals jumpers from Rory’s two alma maters, Yale and Chilton.

While Scott Patterson, who played Lorelai’s love interest Luke Danes, chimed in:

There’s no date set for when the episdoes will air, just that it will be this year.
