Comedian Jack Whitehall will portray glam rock legend Marc Bolan in the next series of Sky Arts' Urban Myths
Funnyman Jack Whitehall plays rock star Marc Bolan in the next series of Urban Myths, which broadcasts next year on Sky Arts.
The episode, entitled Urban Myths: When Bowie Met Bolan tells the story, which may or may not have happened, of how the teenage Bolan, then known as Marc Feld, first met the young David Bowie (when he was known as Davie Jones) who's played by Fortitude actor Luke Treadaway.
With both singers struggling to sell records, their manager Les Conn (played by Young Ones actor Ade Edmondon) summons his charges to his office. Disappointed that they have so far failed to make him any money, he asks them to re-paint his office.
Marc Bolan's glittering career saw him notch up a string of hit singles with his band T.Rex including the number ones Hot Love and Get It On.
Jack will also be returning next year in another Sky series. His hit comedy Bounty Hunters is back for a second run on Sky One in 2018.
