Jaime Winstone will play a DJ in a new Sky 1 comedy drama, After Hours.

The six half-hour episodes will see the actress play Lauren, who runs a local internet radio show from a canal boat with her friend Ollie, played by Sugartown's Rob Kendrick.

The series, which will be directed by The Royle Family co-creator Craig Cash, will screen next year and centres on 18-year-old Willow, played by The World's End actor James Tarpey, who has no job, lives with his parents and and has lost his girlfriend to someone else, but whose great passion is listening to the radio show.

Ardal O'Hanlon plays Willow's father Peter, a former milkman, while John Thomson is Peter's best mate, who sleeps on the family's sofa. Ex Casualty star Susan Cookson is Peter's wife Anna.

"I'm really excited to be working with Craig Cash and the lovely crew," says Jaime. "I loved the script."
