Jane The Virgin: 'There's nothing we won't touch in this show'
Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni have promised anything can happen in Jane The Virgin – the new comedy which begins this week on E4.
Gina and Justin play unlikely parents Jane and Rafael in the new E4 series about a religious young Latina woman who is saving herself for marriage, only to be accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine doctor’s check-up!
Hotel owner Rafael, who once shared a kiss with Jane turns out by a string of coincidences to be the biological father, but she is already engaged to another man.
Gina, 30, said: “Anything could happen in Jane! Anything except her losing her virginity. You’re not going to get that. She’s going to wait ’til marriage but outside of that anything could happen.”

Justin added: “If you could dream it, it could happen on Jane the Virgin – there is nothing off the table.
“And the season finale – once you watch it for the full 22 episodes, once it finishes, you will be like, ‘I can’t believe they went there!’

“And you will take your remote and throw it at your TV and you’ll be screaming, ‘No! what?!’ Because you’re going to want the next episodes, and you’re going to have to wait a whole six months.”
The show is based on Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen, and is narrated by a Latin Lover, voiced by Anthony Mendez, to help viewers keep up with the bizarre twists and turns.

Andrea Navedo, who plays Jane’s outgoing mother Xo, told people to bear with the outrageous storylines, because the show is meant to be unbelievable.
She said: “As much as it has these outrageous storylines and crazy characters and things that people probably wouldn’t do in real life, the show is so aware of itself, it’s sort of like a little wink to the audience. ‘Hey we know what we’re doing, we know this is crazy but just go for the ride with us because we guarantee you’re going to have lot of fun!’.”
Jane The Virgin begins on E4 on Wednesday April 22 at 9pm.
