Jennifer Ellison: 'I've been offered most soaps'
Actress Jennifer Ellison has revealed that, while she's been offered parts in many soaps, she'd only appear in Brookside if it returned. Jennifer played Emily Shadwick in Brookside for six years, until 2003 when the Liverpool-based soap was axed by Channel 4. And she admitted that she would consider going back if it ever returned to TV. She said: "I'd never ever say never. But I'm 25 and I was in a soap for six years so it was such a huge part of my life. I think if Brookside came back then maybe, yeah. I've been offered most of the soaps actually." Jennifer, who triumphed on ITV1's reality show Hell's Kitchen in 2004, also said she thought soap actors were among the hardest workers in the business. She said: "I love soaps and I think they have got to be some of the most disciplined actors. It's a really difficult profession actually because of the amount of time you have got to film the episodes so it's a really big work load. "It's been a great grounding for me. I don't think I'd want to go back just yet because I have got too many things in the pipeline." Jennifer is set to star in a live stage tour of The War Of The Worlds next year. The actress also revealed she would be playing Cinderella in a pantomime at Christmas - alongside Cilla Black and Les Dennis.
