JLS star Marvin Humes has said the 'witch hunt' against X Factor contestants Christopher Maloney and Rylan Clark has to end. Essex boy Rylan and Liverpudlian Christopher have come under fire for still being in the contest when show favourites such as Ella Henderson have been voted off. Marvin, who came second in the fifth series of X Factor with JLS, said: "One thing I don't like is the witch hunt that Chris and Rylan have had. I think it's unfair. "Those guys, what they did was enter a competition to try and change their lives and get exposure, it's not their fault they're still here. People are voting for them." Bandmate Aston Merrygold added: "It's the same thing that happens every year. Someone has to go. If people don't vote for them, they have to go home. That's how these shows work... "There's always the same thing, it happened twice our year. That's the drama of the show, it's a TV show and a competition and at the end of the day, someone has to go. It's a platform." JLS have been busy filming their festive special, A Very JLS Christmas, for Sky1HD and are releasing new single Give Me Life on December 23. Marvin said of the band's swift rise to fame on the X Factor: "We obviously tried for a year to try and make it in the traditional way where we managed ourselves and went to record companies for showcases and sent in demos, but it was tough, and The X Factor sort of catapulted us into the industry, so you can't buy that sort of exposure. X Factor helped us massively."
