Joey Essex: I'm the 'secret of TOWIE's success'
Joey Essex has hinted that the reason The Only Way Is Essex has been such a hit with viewers is because he is on it. The reality TV star joked that the ITV2 show has gone from strength to strength since he joined the line-up in the second series - and when asked the secret of its success said: "It's got me in it, doesn't it?" However he added that when he did join the series he had no idea just how successful it would turn out to be. "When I joined I didn't know how long it was going to go on for," Joey said. "I think it will crack on for a while, I don't see why they would want to get rid of it. "I've got exciting things coming up. I'm doing interesting scenes and stuff I'll stay on for a little while now." Joey is set for a busy 2013, with more TOWIE coming up as well as reportedly joining the line-up of ITV1's new celebrity diving show Splash! featuring Olympian Tom Daley. However he admitted that one thing he won't be doing is making any New Year's resolutions. "When people drag out things and say 'I want to lose weight I want to lose a few stone and I'll start in three months in the New Year', I think it's an excuse to leave it for three months. If you want to stop doing something, just do it, don't wait," he added.
