Kerry Katona: 'Big Reunion isn't the end of Atomic Kitten'
Atomic Kitten stars Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon talk to TV Times magazine about their plans for the future ahead of ITV2's The Big Reunion: On Tour (Thursday)…
Were Atomic Kitten apprehensive about singing together again?
Liz: "When we were first asked to do The Big Reunion we were worried that because we all have new lives now, no one would want to see us together again?"
Why do you think viewers are so taken with the series?
Kerry: "All our songs resonate with people that want to relive their youth. When we sing Whole Again on stage everybody remembers where they were the first time they heard it and it brings back a lot of fond memories."
Was it hard agreeing to take part in The Big Reunion and having to confront faces from your past?
Kerry: "I think the series showed a different side to all the bands on the tour. It proved that it was hard for everybody, it wasn’t all glitz and glamour, each individual had their own journey and people can relate to that."

Did you enjoy watching the show?
Liz: "It was definitely shocking to watch. But this series is all about having fun! Although I should warn you that it all gets a bit debauched, there would be times when I would say something then realise that there was a camera behind me filming everything!"
Did the Kittens get on with some bands better then others while on tour?
Kerry: "Oh yeah. Anthony and Duncan from Blue were always in our dressing room, especially when Anthony needed to fake tan."
Liz: "He’s going to kill you for saying that!"
Kerry: "But it’s true! Anthony calls himself the fourth Kitten!”
Do you think that 5ive are the band that the girls most look forward to seeing live?
Liz: "Oh 5ive definitely put on a great show. In fact they are going on tour soon so I hope I get free tickets to see them."
What was it like for you performing in your home town of Liverpool, Liz?
"To be honest, nerves really kicked in for me and I’m glad Kerry and Natasha were there."
You have both appeared on reality TV shows in the past. Kerry, you won 2004’s I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here, while Liz won Celebrity MasterChef back in 2008. How did these experiences compare to The Big Reunion?
Liz: "MasterChef was such hard work. Especially as I was by myself and I’ve never really enjoyed working on my own."
Kerry: "There’s an enormous sense of vulnerability when you’re out there on your own but with the tour you know the girls have got your back, it’s such a great feeling!"
Is this series the last time we’ll see the three girls together on stage?
Kerry: "Oh no. This isn’t the end of the Kittens, that’s for sure, just watch this space."
