Lee Mack: ‘I could bring back Not Going Out as a spin-off series!'
After the suprise Christmas marriage of Lee and landlady Lucy in Not Going Out, fans thought they'd probably seen the last of Lee Mack’s hit comedy series, especially as Lee had said if the pair got together it would be the end of the show.
But Lee has now revealed to What’s On TV that he can see his BBC1 show returning, but as a spin-off series…
“Yes I said Not Going Out would end if they were together, but I may have changed my mind!” he said. “I could call it something else and bring it back as a spin-off series, sort of like George & Mildred was to Man About The House. That’s just one option. We could keep it going, end it altogether or do it as a spin-off. We’ll see how it goes. I’m having a little break from it at the moment, and I genuinely don’t know.”
During his ‘break’ from Not Going Out, keen darts player Lee will soon be appearing on BBC2 in the charity challenge Let’s Play Darts for Comic Relief, along with his former Not Going Out co-star Tim Vine. They'll play six other celebrities, who are paired up with professional darts players, such as Bobby ‘King of Bling’ George and Andy ‘The Viking’ Fordham, for a fun charity tournament, filmed recently at Lakeside Frimley Green arena.

I'm a huge fan of television so I really have found the perfect job, as I've been writing about TV shows, films and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 25 years. I'm currently TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas and Tenko. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too.
