Channel 4 show Location, Location, Location has been cleared by Ofcom following complaints presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer used it to express their political opinions. The presenters drew complaints for outlining their view that stamp duty was contributing to the slowdown in the property market. They said they would be lobbying the Government about the issue. Ofcom received complaints from 15 viewers that the programme, which was broadcast in June, was biased and used by Kirstie and Phil to present their own political opinions. Kirstie has previously advised the Conservative Party on housing issues. But the broadcasting watchdog said that the programme made clear that the views expressed by the presenting duo were not along party lines or specific to one political party. Incidentally, the Government has just announced it is suspending stamp duty for all house purchases under £175,000. Location, Location, Location is based around experts Kirstie and Phil helping buyers to find their dream homes.
