The former host has no regrets over leaving the show
She left the infamous baking show when it moved from the BBC to Channel 4, and now Mel Giedroyc has revealed she hasn't watched The Great British Bake Off since her departure.
Opening up to Jonathan Ross on whether she still tunes in since the show's big move, Mel confessed: "No, I literally haven't, I feel bad about that."
On whether she had any regrets not continuing her role on Channel 4, she said: "Not at all."
Channel 4's decision to buy Great British Bake Off for £75 million (for three years) caused huge upset among fans because national treasure judge, Mary Berry, announced she'd be stepping down from her role as judge.
Whilst Paul Hollywood opted to move with the show, hosts Mel and Sue Perkins also hung up their baking gloves and passed the baton to Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
Mary, 83, was replaced by Prue Leith.
But, with Great British Bake Off still proving a huge hit over on Channel 4, BBC are said to be in talks to create a new cooking show to rival it.
BBC bosses are on the look out for amateur cooks and bakers who want to be "part of an exciting prime-time food programme" called "Celebration".
And, while details are still under wraps, an insider revealed it's because they're desperate to fill the gap left by Great British Bake Off, having underwhelmed audiences with their two attempts - Britain's Best Home Cook and The Big Family Cooking Showdown - so far.
“The BBC has been trying to fill the huge gap left by Bake Off moving to Channel 4.
"They’ve brought out Mary Berry for Best Home Cook, which was a bit flat. And they had ex-winner Nadiya Hussain for the Big Family Cooking Showdown, which had to be overhauled for a second series that no one really wanted," the source explained.
"Celebration is even starting on BBC2, just like Bake Off did all those years ago.”
