Michael Sheen wins Great Comic Relief Bake Off round: 'Pavlova is all I'm going to eat!'
Hollywood actor Michael Sheen beat stiff competition from his fellow celebrity bakers to take home the star baker award on last night’s episode of The Great Comic Relief Bake Off.
Welshman Michael beat comedian David Mitchell, presenter Jameela Jamil and campaigner Sarah Brown – wife of former prime minister, Gordon Brown – to win the coveted title after the four celebrity bakers were put through their paces on the BBC show.

Show judge and baking guru Mary Berry initially dismissed Michael – who played the part of Tony Blair several times, including in 2006′s The Queen – saying: “If you’d asked me first thing this morning whether he was going to be star baker, I would have said not much of a chance.”

However, the actor shone with a magnificent three-tiered pavlova.
He said: “Pavlova is not only gonna become my signature dish, it’s going to be all I eat from now on.
“The next time you see me I will be like a house – the house that pavlova built.”

Michael imparted his advice to other budding bakers at home, adding: “If at first you don’t succeed, bake, bake again.”
On Twitter, he added...
I have been crying laughing at everyone's tweets about my baking exploits. YOU'LL ALL BE PEELING ONIONS LIKE THAT SOON JUST MARK MY WORDS!!!

The actor will now go through to the special edition of An Extra Slice on the Red Nose Day night of television, Friday, March 13, where he will compete against the other star bakers from the series – including actor and writer Jennifer Saunders and style guru Gok Wan – in a chance to be crowned overall winner of The Great Comic Relief Bake Off 2015.
Viewers also saw television funnyman Ed Byrne visit a Comic Relief-funded project in Uganda to show how the money raised this Red Nose Day could help change people’s lives.

It is hoped that the show will inspire the nation to get creative in the kitchen, host their own bake sales and do their own bit of self-raising for those living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across Africa.
The fourth episode of The Great Comic Relief Bake Off will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 8pm on BBC One. Presenter and designer Alexa Chung, former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, actor Kayvan Novak and comedienne Victoria Wood will battle in the Bake Off tent.
