Midsomer's Neil Dudgeon: 'We were treated like The Beatles in Denmark!'
Midsomer Murders star Neil Dudgeon says he got a reception like The Beatles when he travelled to Denmark to film the show's 100th episode.
The Killings at Copenhagen, will see Neil's character DCI John Barnaby and his new sidekick, DS Charlie Nelson (Gwilym Lee), head to Copenhagen when a body discovered there turns out to have a connection to a Midsomer family.
The ITV hit is hugely popular in Denmark and Neil tells TV Times the cast were mobbed by fans. The special features Ann Eleonora Jorgensen, who played grieving mum Pernille Birk Lasen in The Killing, and Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, who starred as tenacious journalist Katrine Fonsmark in political thriller Borgen.
"When we got there, it was like The Beatles arriving with the Pope in the back of the car," laughs Neil. "We were filming outside the police station used in The Killing and we were taking photographs of it."
The 100th episode of Midsomer Murders will screen next year.
