Mr Selfridge role for singer Boe
Alfie Boe is joining the cast of popular costume drama Mr Selfridge.
The singing star will feature alongside regulars, including Jeremy Piven and Katherine Kelly, in one episode of the ITV show's second series set around the First World War.
He plays singer Richard Chapman, who performs at a wartime charity concert to raise money for troops on the front line.
Alfie, who starts filming later this month, said: "I'm a huge fan of Mr Selfridge and am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the series. I'm looking forward to seeing the set and meeting the cast."
The singer, who performed at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert, has sold more than a million records in the UK.
Executive producer Kate Lewis said: "As soon as we introduced the character of Richard Chapman we knew Alfie Boe would be the perfect person to play him.
"We were delighted when he accepted the role and we're looking forward to welcoming him on set."
