The Musketeers star Tom Burke has revealed that the cast pulled quite a few pranks while filming the swashbuckling BBC drama.
Tom stars as swordsman Athos in the 17th-century drama, which also features Luke Pasqualino, Santiago Cabrera and Howard Charles as fellow fighters D'Artagnan, Aramis and Porthos.
Tom said: “We’re incredibly adolescent on the set.
“I spent 20 minutes on three different occasions, hiding in Luke’s trailer, just waiting to scare him. That’s not even adolescent... it's infantile,” he admitted.
“We also enjoyed making prank calls,” Tom added. “I spent half an hour on the phone to Clarks [shoe shop] pretending to be a man who couldn’t get his shoe off.”
The actor, who has also starred in The Invisible Woman, Great Expectations, State Of Play and The Hour, also revealed that he received words of advice from Doctor Who star Tom Baker when he was a child and wannabe actor.
“I met Tom Baker when I was a kid, because my mum grew up with him in Kent.
“We bumped into him at the supermarket and she said to him, ‘Tom wants to be an actor’. And he said, ‘Oh, don’t be an actor. Be a movie star’.”
Series one of The Musketeers became BBC1’s biggest new drama launch since Call The Midwife.
Series two of the adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's tale is currently filming in Prague and is due to be screened next year.
