Natasha Kaplinsky is three months' pregnant
Five news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky is three months' pregnant with her first child, a spokesman for the channel has confirmed. The news comes just weeks after the 35-year-old started work at Five following a high-profile move from the BBC. Natasha, who wed investment banker Justin Bower in August 2005, is said to be 'ecstatic'. A friend told The Mirror: "She could not be happier but obviously the timing could have been a bit better. "But she will be able to spend much of the day with her baby and go to the studio a bit later." A spokesman for Five said: "Natasha has been a great hit with our viewers and everyone is delighted by the news." Natasha opted to front Five's news coverage in a deal reported to be worth £1 million a year. Her first broadcast on February 18 pulled in 957,000 viewers, a 43 per cent increase on the average for that slot. It equated to a 7.5 per cent audience share. Natasha's latest move to Five sees the former Strictly Come Dancing champ make an almost complete tour of British news networks. Since first being picked to present the early morning news bulletins at ITV Meridian in 1997, she has worked for ITV London, Sky News, BBC Breakfast before moving to the station's Six O'Clock News.
