The Neon Highway had a quiet debut in theaters in March 2024. But audiences that saw the 2024 new movie seem to love it, judging by the movie 100% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now it has the chance to become even bigger with its premiere on Netflix for US subscribers as of Thursday, July 11.

Starring Beau Bridges and Rob Mayes, directed by William Wages and from a script by Wages and Phillip Bellury, The Neon Highway follows aspiring singer/songwriter Wayne (Mayes), whose dream of becoming a country star faded after an accident, as he teams up with washed-up legend Claude Allen (Bridges) to pitch a new song to music executives in Nashville. But when the industry initially rejects them, Wayne and Claude get creative to recapture their dream.

Also starring in the movie are Sam Hennings, TJ Power, and Jennifer Bowles, while featuring country music stars Lee Brice and Pam Tillis.

Critics also gave their thoughts on the movie, with it rating "Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes (though not with quite as much enthusiasm as general audiences who saw the movie). AARP movie critic Thelma Adams specifically praised Bridges' performance in the movie, saying he "makes every scene feel as comfortable as an old slipper and earns every tear that comes his way."

What's interesting about Bridges starring in this movie is that it definitely has some similar vibes to a movie that his brother, Jeff Bridges, starred in — the latter's Oscar-winning role in Crazy Heart (currently available to rent on-demand).

This is just one of the interesting titles that are new on Netflix this week, and the latest movie that hopes to be discovered on Netflix. Some recent examples of that include the Dennis Quaid sports movie The Hill, the Lily Collins thriller Inheritance and the Denzel Washington crime drama The Little Things.

The Neon Highway is only available to US subscribers of Netflix. The movie is not currently available to rent via digital on-demand, so the only way that you can watch it now is by being a Netflix subscriber.
