The cast of the Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners have spoken about the forthcoming film version, saying there is "no going back" now it is made. Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison have now finished filming most of the big screen adaptation, which sees them going on a boys' holiday to Malia in Crete. "It's too late" said Joe, who plays Simon in the show. Whatever has happened now, we have either made a total mess of it or it is brilliant. But it is definitely too late, so from my point of view, it is finished." Simon, who plays Will, added, "It's basically all finished now - I'd say that we've filmed 95 per cent of it. We've got a little bit left to do later in the year, but on the whole it is finished. They've just got to edit it, do the music and all that." Joe admitted that the film was a "big deal" for the cast and that they took it seriously, while Blake - aka Neil - added that he hoped fans would like it. "The film is not even edited yet or anything. We just hope fans of the show will enjoy the film, and people who haven't watched the show will also enjoy it. That's all that is on our minds at the moment," he said. The movie, which also stars female cast members Emily Head and Emily Atack, is due for release in the summer.
