One Direction set for own TV show
Boy band One Direction are reportedly set to land their own US TV show on Nickolodeon after proving a hit with American audiences. The news was confirmed via the official Twitter page of the children's channel, who said they were working with the former X Factor finalists on a new project. "The rumours are true," they tweeted, "our live-action slate does include a development project for One Direction. Welcome to the family!" It is the latest success for the quintet, who were greeted by scenes of fan hysteria on their promotional tour of the US this week. They are also being tipped to top the American Billboard album charts with their debut release Up All Night this week - and if they succeed, will become the first British band ever to score a US No 1 with their first ever album. The band - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik - sprang to fame after finishing third in the 2010 series of The X Factor. Their debut single What Makes You Beautiful topped the UK charts last year while Up All Night reached number two in the album charts.
