Pete’s Peek | Danny Dyer’s Doghouse is the ultimate Halloween treat
The female of the species is certainly more deadly than the male in Jake West's zom-com for the lad's mag generation.
Danny Dyer (who seems to be in everything at the moment) and Noel Clarke head the cast of familiar faces as a group of young men head to a remote village - where the women outnumber the men 4:1 - for some serious R&R in a bid to help one of their lot get over his divorce.
But when they arrive in Moodley, they discover that all the women have been infected with a virus that has turned them into 'man-hating feminist cannibals'; part of a secret military experiment gone awry, codenamed Operation Cathouse.
Cue: some cool-looking zombies, including Emily Booth's hideous scissor-handed hairdresser; a huge woman in rollers who has a thing for finger food; an ultra butch butcher, a gran in a Zimmer-frame, and even a former one-night stand.
Jake West handles the comedy and action pretty well - way better than the terrible Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes - and the cast look like they are having a blast.
Favourite line from the film: Q: 'What kind of virus only affects women?'. A: 'Bird Flu?'.
