Pete’s Peek | Flock horror! Birdemic: Shock and Terror poops on the UK
First there was avian bird flu, now comes Birdemic. No, it’s not a new strain of the airborne disease, but a deadly new eco-horror that ‘amazingly’ is causing a sensation in the US.
Described as the best new worst movie since the likes of Plan 9 from Outer Space and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Birdemic: Shock and Terror premieres at the Curzon Soho in London on Friday, 28 May with further screenings confirmed in Nottingham and at the 9th Fantastic Films Weekend in Bradford on June 4.
This mad, bad homage to Hitchcock’s The Birds – with archive shots of Tippi Hedren to boot – cost just $10,000 to make and is the brainchild of a bloke called James Nguyen who calls himself the Master of Romantic Thrillers.
I’m expecting the worst, so will I survive the late night screening? Look out for my review coming soon…. until then, check out the trailer. It's really, really, bad...
