What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Monday 5th March
Collateral, 9.00pm, BBC2
A fitting finale for this thought-provoking state-of-the-nation drama. DI Kip Glaspie goes out on a limb to try and make a difference, yet when Abdullah’s killer, army captain Sandrine, goes rogue, things get messy. Sandrine may have pulled the trigger, but it’s the human-trafficking kingpin Kip really wants. Can she catch him while also helping Abdullah’s sister Fatima? Rating: *****
Classic Mary Berry, 8.30pm, BBC1
Mary has two delicious-looking breakfast recipes to kick off her light and easy meals tonight. First up are drop scones served with yoghurt, blueberries and raspberries. For a savoury alternative Mary rustles up kedgeree, made with smoked haddock, basmati rice and boiled eggs. She also visits Charlton Manor Primary School in London, where the children grow their own vegetables to supply their school kitchen. “These children have been cooking for years and their confidence is a joy to see,” says Mary about her accomplished young helpers. Next on the menu are family-friendly burgers and, finally, a luscious lemon syllabub for dessert. Rating: ****
Coast and Country Auctions, 3.45pm, BBC1
From Homes under the Hammer to Flog It!, where would daytime TV be without an auction? This weekday series, however, leaves property and antiques behind for traditional markets selling everything rural, from horses and cattle to fish and veg. The first episode heads to Brixham on the Devon coast, home to the world-famous fish market. Here are some happy people, namely auctioneers Todd and John, who love their jobs – and selling £1-2m worth of fish a week could be the reason why – but for others, auction day is a worrying time. Trawlerman Alan is hoping for a good price for his cuttlefish so he can pay his crew. Rating: ***
