FIRST LOOK: Red Dwarf crew reunite for new series
Red Dwarf crew are back together in a first look photo of the latest series of the sci-fi comedy, which returns to Dave in September
The original cast of Red Dwarf have been pictured together in character for the first time in four years.
Craig Charles (who stars as Dave Lister), Robert Llewellyn (Kryten), Danny John-Jules (The Cat) and Chris Barrie (Rimmer) have reunited for the 11th series of the cult sci-fi comedy.
Written and directed by Red Dwarf co-creator Doug Naylor, the Red Dwarf XI series was recorded in front of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios. Broadcaster Dave has scheduled the new series for a September premiere.
Over the course of the six-episode instalment, two of the Dwarfers’ dreams come true. Rimmer accidentally saves the life of a Space Corps captain and is promoted to Officer.
Cat takes time off from being in love with himself to fall in love with a female Cat – who has a secret. And Lister wakes up to discover a deranged droid has stolen some of his body parts.

Meanwhile, Kryten has a mid-life crisis and considers leaving the Dwarfers for a younger crew.
The gang also find themselves in an alternative America where modern technology is outlawed, making both Kryten (a mechanoid) and Rimmer (a computer-powered hologram) illegal.
Red Dwarf attracted a cult fanbase and a dedicated following after its initial 1988 run on BBC Two.
The first episode featured the technician character Lister on the mining ship Red Dwarf. He discovered that he had been in stasis for three million years.

The show went on to attract over eight million viewers and was broadcast in more than 25 countries. It also scooped a number of awards, including an International Emmy.
After a 10-year absence, Dave revived the show in 2009 with Red Dwarf: Back To Earth.
This was followed by a six-part series, Red Dwarf X in 2012. Red Dwarf XII is due to be broadcast in 2017.
