Ricky Gervais 'embarrassed' by Extra wealth
Comic Ricky Gervais has apparently admitted that he's embarrassed by his vast bank balance. The Extras star has confessed that his rumoured multi-million fortune often tugs at his conscience. In an interview with Tesco magazine, the 46-year-old admitted: "I don't sit back and say, 'I deserve to earn silly amounts'. "Doing so has made me feel guilty. Apart from being able to afford more things, I haven't changed my habits. It can all get a bit embarrassing." Ricky also claimed that he doesn't care about being a star. "I didn't go into the industry because I wanted to be famous. The fact that I'll be recognised walking out of a chip shop doesn't excite me in the slightest," he added. The funnyman also revealed that he and his long-term partner Jane Fallon have no wedding plans, despite having been together for 20 years. "It's not that we don't believe in marriage, we just don't see the point," he explained. "To all intents and purposes we are. We've got the will, the deed - we just don't have the toaster."
