Fans go wild for Rupert Grint in The ABC Murders!
Rupert is 'absolutely smashing it' in the BBC hit
Viewers want to see Harry Potter legend Rupert Grint on telly more after being wowed by his performance in The ABC Murders, which concludes tonight.
The three-part murder mystery, based on the classic story by Agatha Christie, sees Rupert play Inspector Crome opposite John Malkovich’s Poirot.
Rupert was famously loveable Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, but viewers here are loving watching the actor in a much darker role. One fan wrote: "I love how obnoxious Rupert Grint is in it." While another tweeted: "Let it be known: Rupert Grint is absolutely phenomenal in Agatha Christie's The ABC Murders. That is all".
Another wrote: "Blimey, Rupert Grint's an absolute revelation in The ABC Murders though isn't he."
Some even speculated that Rupert could be upstaging John Malkovich on screen in the thriller, with one commenting: "Rupert Grint is the star of this for me". Many agreed that the pair made for great Christmas TV, with one viewer suggesting they filled "a wee Sherlock sized hole in my Crimbo TV schedule."
Rupert spoke to us about how much enjoyed working with John on The ABC Murders, saying: "I’ve been a huge fan of his for a long time and I remember the first scene we had clocking eyes because he’s a real presence, even when he’s not saying anything. I’ve enjoyed working with him, he’s a lovely guy.

"He’s brought something special to Poirot. It’s different but it feels right and like he’s been playing Poirot for years.”
The ABC Murders concludes tonight on BBC1 at 9.00pm.
