Say bonjour to 'Allo 'Allo
Rene will once again bid 'Good moaning' to the ridiculous English policeman and renew his battle against dim-witted Nazi occupiers in 'Allo 'Allo! The BBC have confirmed the hit TV farce is set to make a return, with Gorden Kaye back as cafe owner Rene Artois. The comedy show was a staple of primetime TV in the 80s and told the story of Rene, who is unwittingly enlisted into the French Resistance. He was helped - or more often than not, hindered - by his wife Edith (played by Carmen Silvera, who died in 2002 aged 80) and waitresses Yvette and Maria (Vicki Michelle and Francesca Gonshaw). Now most of the original cast are set to return for the one-off reunion show for BBC2, which will be shot in front of a live audience at Granada Studios in Manchester. A BBC spokeswoman said: "'Allo 'Allo! is going to come back. We're sure it will be a great treat for fans of the show."
