Shock discovery in tonight's Coronation Street will change legendary character's life FOREVER

There's plenty of drama to kick-start this week's Coronation Street as a surprise turn of events will mean someone's life is about to change...

Tonight's Coronation Street sees Sally's nearest and dearest working hard to prove her innocence, and a bizarre turn of events leads to Gina making a surprising discovery...

Sally's safety in prison is thrown into jeopardy tonight when fellow cobbles resident Abi is released from prison, leading to vulnerable Sally being targeted by prison bully Marcia.

Sally's family know they need to act fast to get the former mayor out of danger... so Gina resorts to desperate measures to find proof that Sally has been framed by breaking into Duncan's flat.

But while Gina's having a good snoop on her sister's behalf, there's trouble when Duncan arrives home and she is forced to hide under the bed.

Thankfully Tim arrives just at the right moment, totally unaware that Gina is in trouble, and his banging on the door luckily distracts Duncan for long enough that Gina can escape out of the window.

What sinister secrets is Duncan hiding?

Coronation Street has confirmed the shock news that Duncan's wife May - the one he claimed was dead and who he was setting up a charity in memory of - is actually still very much alive.

Could Gina's discovery tonight have something to do with Duncan's secrets he has been hiding?

The official show website revealed today that next week will see Sophie come face-to-face with Duncan's wife May in a hospital ward.

The pair are both there after Duncan is hit by a car during an argument with Tim at the end of this week, leaving his life hanging in the balance.

But will Sally's family be able to use May as their bargaining chip to get her out of jail?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
