Simon and Pete 'fall out' over X Factor spoof
X Factor judge Simon Cowell has apparently fallen out with his close friend Pete Waterman over his appearance in Peter Kay's spoof of the talent show. Pete features as a panelist in Britain's Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice, a two-hour special which makes fun of reality shows like The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. Music producer Pete, who was previously a judge on Pop Idol alongside Simon, told The Sun newspaper: "Simon isn't returning my phone calls. He's one of my best mates but has fallen out with me. He hasn't got a sense of humour. "I rang Simon so he could say, 'Your comedy acting is genius, Pete'. But it seems he doesn't think it's at all funny." Kay's spoof was watched by six million viewers when it was shown on October 12 - providing Channel 4 with its biggest audience of the year. To add further insult to injury, The Winner's Song, released by Kay's alter ego Geraldine McQueen, charted at number two - one place ahead of X Factor winner Leon Jackson's single, Don't Call This Love. Pete, who was also a panelist on Popstars: The Rivals, says he would never do another talent show again. "I get asked to do them all the time, but they've become a joke," he said.
