Sport Relief 2018: Countryfile's Helen Skelton 'batters' Love Island's Camilla Thurlow in boxing match

Fans were shocked by the fight

Helen Skelton shocked Sport Relief viewers on Friday as she showed off her boxing skills against Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow.

The celebrity pair - who both had professional training ahead of the exciting event - didn't hold back, and the match had to be stopped five times to allow them to regain their composure.

But after three tough rounds, it was Countryfile presenter Helen who proved an unstoppable force and was eventually crowned the winner.

And fans couldn’t believe their eyes after the brutal match, with on writing on Twitter: “Helen Skelton destroyed her #sportrelief."

Another added: “Wouldn't mess with this Helen Skelton on Sport Relief, that Camilla is getting battered!”

While a third commented: "Helen Skelton is an animal. It's like watching GGG #SportRelief".

After winning the showdown, Helen - who's also kayaked the length of the Amazon and cycled to the South Pole for Sports Relief challenges in the past - admitted she’s “fallen” for boxing.

“This has been tough, because it’s involved taking on another personality", the 34-year-old said.

“I have never hit anyone in the face. But I didn’t want to let my coach down, I wanted to try to do the sport justice and get the win."

Before adding: “I have fallen for the sport.”

Meanwhile, two other matches were also played on Friday’s show on BBC One, as former footballer Wayne Bridge went up against Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews and The Saturday’s Vanessa White took on S Club 7’s Hannah Spearritt.

While Wayne managed come out on top against Spencer in the second round, the judges unanimously decided to crown Vanessa the winner of her brawl against Hannah.

But it was all for a good cause, as overall BBC Sport Relief managed to raise an amazing £38,195,278m for charity by the end of the show, which also included a 12-hour five-a-side game and a special version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Great work, everyone!
