Strictly Come Dancing 2018: 7 things we REALLY want to happen!
From the return of Shirley Ballas to Mary Berry dancing with Aljaz, 7 things we want to see in the next series of Strictly
We can’t believe Strictly Come Dancing 2017 is over! Sad face.
We’re already counting down the days till next year’s extravaganza, and here are 7 things we really want to happen in Strictly Come Dancing 2018...
Shirley Ballas to return
It’s a tough gig being Len Goodman’s replacement but Shirley has been nothing short of ‘fab-u-lous’! With her encyclopaedic ballroom knowledge and passion for Latin it would be a crying shame if she didn’t come back next year. Plus Shirley + Bruno = friendship goals.
Scrap the rumba
Does anyone like the rumba? Seriously? It’s the hardest dance for the male celebs to master and only the very best female dancers can really sell it. Instead we’d like more Argentine tangos, and perhaps a new dance style, like lindyhop?
Neil Jones to get a partner

The flame-haired dance floor sensation has been on the sidelines for too long! Now that wife Katya has won the glitterball, surely it’s time to give him a proper partner? He’s wasted in the group dances.
Change the judges’ entrance
Craig, Bruno, Darcey and Shirley can do no wrong. Well, except for the cringe-worthy bit when they walk onto the floor from different corners of the studio and then have to run to the centre to hit their mark before the music stops. Surely there’s a more elegant way for these legends to make an entrance?
Stop the embarrassing VTs
Please. Just. Stop. We’re very happy seeing the celebrities in training, chatting about their week and rehearsing their dances. No need for them to make a trip to a butterfly sanctuary, or an old theatre or to pretend to be haunted by ghosts. Enough already.
Another surprising line-up
Who would have thought Debbie McGee would light up the dancefloor? Or that unassuming Joe McFadden from Holby City would go on to lift the glitterball? Talent executive Vinnie Shergill, who is responsible for choosing the line-up, is leaving the show after five years. Let’s hope her successor will come up with the goods. Greatest hope: Mary Berry dancing with Aljaz.
Mind your manners, Brendan
Just because you’ve been here since series one, doesn’t mean you can be rude to Shirley, Brendan. Either be polite or let Neil take your spot on the show.
