Doctor Who also continues to do well with Jodie in the TARDIS
It might not be a match for Bodyguard, but nonetheless a whopping audience watched Strictly Come Dancing last night as Seann Walsh and his dance partner Katya Jones finally departed the BBC1 favourite.
Over nine million people tuned in, according to Telly Mix, as Seann and Katya – who had an eventful time on the show to say the least! – lost out in the dance off with ex-cricketer Graeme Swann and his pro partner Oti Mabuse.
Speaking about his time on the show, Seann said: “When you watch it and hear people at the end say this has been the best experience in my life… you don’t really believe, but this has been without a doubt the best experience of my life. Probably bar the last few weeks.
“But generally speaking, from the beginning it really was. I can’t believe it, it’s been amazing.”
Not surprisingly given the huge audience, Strictly Come Dancing was the most watched show on Sunday night.
Strictly easily saw off traditional rival The X Factor, which pulled in over four million viewers.
Elsewhere, Jodie Whittaker’s reign in the TARDIS continues to go well, with the latest episode of Doctor Who attracting over six million viewers. It seems the move to Sunday nights is helping the long-running series.
The Little Drummer Girl, the latest John Le Carré adaptation on the box, also got decent ratings, with over five million people seeing the opening episode of the six part spy thriller.
It didn’t do as well, though, as The Night Manager, another Le Carré adaptation.
Back in 2016, The Night Manger, which starred Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, was watched by over 10 million viewers. It did so well it even led to rumours that Tom Hiddleston could be cast as the next James Bond...
