One of the band could be taking to the dance floor
The Spice Girls recently announced plans to reunite and now it looks like they’re heading for our TV screens too as one member could be about to sign up to Strictly Come Dancing.
It’s been reported that show producers are desperate to get one of the girls on board, having previously nabbed Emma Bunton for the 2006 series where she came in third place.
“Having a Spice Girl on this year's show would be a huge coup for the show's bosses,” a source tells The Sun Online. "Their comeback is still the talk of the town and everyone knows it's going to be huge.
"Having one of the Spice Girls taking part would be the cherry on the cake this year.”
But which member of the group could take to the dance floor? With Emma having already had a shot, it’s thought that the Strictly team are hoping to get Mel B, Mel C or Geri Horner to take part in the 2018 series.
Mel B would already bring a fair bit of dance experience as she participated in the US version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, back in 2007.
The singer often impressed the judges and reached the final, though unfortunately missed out on the win and ended up in second place.
Meanwhile Mel C has previously confessed that she’s turned down the show after being asked several times, though admitted that she would “consider” doing it.
“Strictly is really the only one of those shows that I would consider and I have had a meeting with them,” she told the Daily Star in 2016. “They ask me every year to do it.
“The problem is if you do Strictly it's so high profile and you'll find yourself in the news every day.”
And Geri Horner also once confessed that she loved Strictly but was reluctant to take part herself after struggling with dance routines during the Spice Girls’ heyday.
“When I was in the Spice Girls, having to learn dance routines when I’m not a trained dancer was very full-on,” Ginger Spice told Radio Times. “It would take me longer than it took everybody else and it was hard work.
"I love dancing but having to learn moves - oh my God!”
Let’s hope that one of the ladies can be persuaded to get their sequins on!
Other stars who’ve been linked to taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2018 include Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain, actor and presenter Ross Kemp and DJ Maya Jama.
