Week eight of Strictly Come Dancing 2008 brought with it a variety of routines

Heather and Brian worked hard at their tango...

Rachel and Vincent visited the West End cast of Dirty Dancing...

...to practise their lifts for Rachel's American Smooth routine

Tom and Camilla were the first couple on to the dancefloor

The couple's quickstep wowed the judges and landed them at the top of the scoreboard

Jodie performed a spirited samba - but the judges weren't too keen

Heather and Brian performed a moody tango

Once again, the singer received a mixed response

Austin Healy received disappointing reviews for his rumba

Cherie Lunghi found herself at the top of the scoreboard again after her waltz

Christine donned a canary-yellow dress to jive to an Elvis classic

All that lifting practice paid off for Rachel and Vincent

With a score of just 12 points he was miles behind the others

John Sergeant was slated by the judges for his cha cha cha

Lisa and Brendan rounded off the show with a Viennese waltz

And the judges loved it

The results show featured a performance from Beyonce

Heather and Rachel found themselves in the dance-off

In the end however, Heather's luck finally ran out and she was voted off

She praised her partner Brian Fortuna before they performed one final dance
