Tara Palmer-Tomkinson quits Channel 4 show The Jump
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has quit celebrity winter sports contest, The Jump, and Sam Jones has been forced to pull out because of a shoulder injury.
The socialite and the Flash Gordon actor were due to compete in the Channel 4 show, located in Austria, in which they had to master various winter sports.
At the end of each show the bottom two contestants would take part in a ski jump to decide who would be eliminated. But according to The Sun, Tara, 42, has now decided the programme isn't for her and TV presenter Laura Hamilton has been asked to step in, while Sam, 59, is unable to overcome a shoulder injury.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "After this week's training Tara has decided the show isn't for her. Laura Hamilton has replaced her and has been in Austria training with the rest of the contestants."
Last month Tara, who was looking strong in training, said: "I feel like I'm under a lot of pressure. I'm not very comfortable with being the favourite. I'm really not."
Sam, who injured himself celebrating a ski jump that had gone well, told The Sun: "It's called 'celebrating a little bit too early.'
"I've been preaching to everyone that we really have to listen to our instructors. I was so shocked when I landed that I said, 'He's right, it works,' and I went, 'Yeah!' and raised my arms. So after completing the run I fell over and hurt my arm."
