British stars turn on the style at New York's glamorous Met Gala
UK actors and celebrities including Thandie Newton, James Corden, Lily James and Claire Foy put their best feet forward at New York's high society event, the Met Gala
British stars gave their international counterparts a run for their money on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit gala in New York on Monday.
Leading the pack of home-grown talent wearing their finest outfits at the star-studded occasion were the likes of actors Thandie Newton, Matt Smith and Lily James, model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne and James Corden and his wife Julia Carey.
The high-fashion event, known as the Met Gala, sees A-listers from all industries wearing bold designs to match each theme, which this year was The Art of the In-Between in honour of Comme des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo.
Former Doctor Who star Matt and ex-Downton Abbey actress Lily, who are in a relationship, put on a tactile display as they walked the red carpet together.
Lily opted for a corseted white Burberry gown with a full-length skirt teamed with a thick black choker.
