The Apprentice: Simon gets hired!
Simon Ambrose was told "You're hired" by Sir Alan Sugar in the final of The Apprentice on Wednesday night. Internet entrepreneur Simon went head to head with sales manager Kristina Grimes for the final task in the hit BBC1 show - to create a 'vision' for a £120 million building owned by the business tycoon on London's South Bank. Simon was joined by former candidates Tre Azam, Rory Laing, Jadine Johnson and Lohit Kalburgi to create The Wave, while Kristina had the help of Naomi Lay, Paul Callaghan, Adam Hosker and Natalie Wood in creating The Phoenix. Back in the boardroom, Sir Alan seemed genuinely torn between Simon and Kristina, saying: "You both are very employable, you both have different skills. It's a tough decision I've got to make." While Sir Alan admitted that Kristina was 'experienced' and 'focused', he then turned to Simon and said: "You're not a good leader of people - but then you surprise me with good innovative ideas and well thought out presentations. And there's some devil inside me that wouldn't like to let you go. "Simon, b****y old fool that I am, I'm going to take that risk. You're hired." Upon learning that he'd won the £100,000-a-year job with Sir Alan, Simon said: "To have won, I'm lost for words, I really can't describe how I feel right now. It's amazing."
