Deacon played the role of detective after discovering the mystery of the ten-toed body on The Bold and the Beautiful, and it ended up saving Sheila’s life. Will they turn into private investigators to figure out what really happened to Tom?

When Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) came across Tom (Clint Howard) outside a warehouse, they had no idea that the unhoused man would become such a big part of their lives. Not only did he lead them to Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), who was very much alive, but he also officiated Deacon and Sheila’s wedding and took a job at Il Giardino. His shocking death immediately following his comeback performance doesn’t make any sense given that it’s being chalked up to an overdose.

Deacon, Sheila and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) were thrilled to see Tom on the verge of a comeback, so a relapse doesn’t make any sense to them. Tom had never been high at work and he was fine before the performance. So what really happened?

We have a feeling that Deacon isn’t going to take this news at face value. After everything Tom did for him, we think Deacon is going to make sure that the genial older man’s legacy lives on in a positive light.

Now, Sheila and Tom had some struggles after Tom did some digging into her past. She gave him a warning (okay, it was a thinly veiled threat), and after that, their relationship improved significantly and she seemed genuinely thrilled to see him succeed.

It’s in Sheila’s best interests to help Deacon figure out what happened to Tom. Given her shady past, she would be an immediate suspect once the fact that he was poisoned comes to light. Helping Deacon to find answers would "clear" her from blame, and it would also be good for her to be part of the team that finds the real culprit. (Of course, with Sheila Carter, it’s always possible that she could be the culprit, so helping with the investigation could help her to steer people away from whatever she did…)

While Deacon isn’t perfect, he has a good heart when it comes to giving people second chances, and we know that he really connected to Tom. We think he might be the one who will figure out what really happened so that he can clear Tom’s name.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS and the following day on Paramount Plus. Check your local listings to see when it comes on where you are.
